Timing

Our own timing platform, Timing Box and app.
Timing

Our own timing software. Built by a timer.

From FIS races to small club races. It runs in the browser, or as an app on the iPad that keeps you on the timing job with no distractions. It even runs on a phone if you really need it to.

  • FDS works out of the box and is our preferred timing hardware. More manufacturers are on the way.
  • Works with third-party timing software, so you can keep what you already use.
  • Never lose a time. Every time is saved first on the laptop or iPad you’re timing on, then sent online. If the internet drops, nothing is lost.

FDS Timing is our main and preferred timing device supplier.

Race Bureau reads the FIS-homologated FDS T-Box directly and supports every FDS feature inside Race Bureau — over USB, Bluetooth or the Race Bureau Timing Box. More makes are coming.

The timing desk

A full timing desk, in the browser.

DESK

Every control a timer needs

Start queue, live on-course clocks and a live ranking. Times are cross-checked against hand times automatically, and hand times are calculated for you. Corrections never overwrite the original time.

RACES

Every format

Up to 9 runs, intermediates, speed traps, dual and parallel races.

FIS FILES

Paperwork done for you

The FIS results XML, the Timing & Data Technical Report and the race penalty.

Built with fallbacks

Never relying on one thing working.

  • Every time is cross-checked against a second system automatically.
  • The hand timer snaps the tape and posts it in Race Relay. The desk has it straight away, checked against the main system's times.
  • Backup connections: if one drops out, the timer is told straight away and Race Bureau switches to the fallback connection by itself.
  • Times are kept on the timing computer and online, so the race doesn't depend on the internet.
Compute a missing time: a missing finish calculated from hand times
The Race Bureau Timing Box

Less gear, more reliable.

Our own invention, made mainly for the iPad. Up to four timing devices connect to the platform through one small box, with a stable link to the timing desk and its own backup built in. It works with or without internet, and cuts down the gear a timer travels with.

  • No internet? No problem. The box runs its own network and timing carries on.
  • Nothing is lost. Every impulse is saved on the box first and sent once it’s confirmed.
  • Backup units, coming soon. Small self-powered units you place at the start, the finish or anywhere on the course. Their times go straight into the Race Office, ready to cross-check, or to replace a main-system time that was lost. Especially handy for wireless races.
  • Plug in, switch on, time. It starts itself, and you manage it from the desk. Recommended for club and non-FIS races.
The stand-alone timing app

Run the whole race on one device.

Install Race Bureau Timing on a Mac, Windows laptop or iPad, or on a phone for small races, and run the whole race on the device, with no internet needed. When you’re back online, everything syncs to the platform and to live results.
